Until June 2023, CHU Brugmann regularly relied on contractors or temporary workers to compensate for staff absences, and managing replacements was a significant burden for the management. “We calculated that each manager spent up to 2 hours of their time each day managing replacements,” estimates Yassine Khadira, Deputy Director of the nursing department.
Six months after the implementation of Hublo within the establishment, Mr. Ben Khadira is satisfied with the impact of Hublo: “we find that this replacement management solution has the advantage of saving a lot of time for the managers.”
With Hublo, CHU can now call on all its internal collaborators when there is a need for replacements, by posting its need just once.
Caregivers appreciate being able to use a mobile application to find replacement missions: their feedback is positive, and they find the application very intuitive. More than 200 have already registered, and Mr. Khadira expects the number to double in the coming months.
Yassine Khadira noticed that “the fact that department heads can address all employees through Hublo promotes mutual assistance and collegiality among the different care units.”
Indeed, Hublo allows for breaking down the silos that traditionally separate services, which also has the advantage of enabling staff to discover other work environments.
Since the adoption of Hublo, the CHU has seen several of its employees take on last-minute assignments in units other than those they were used to working in. This type of opportunity is now particularly sought after by paramedical professionals and can serve as a real retention lever for the establishment.
